Sears, a photo by dppuchol on Flickr. This Art Deco/Moderne beauty on Bedford Ave. in Brooklyn, was designed by Nimmons, Carr & Wright. In 1932 First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt attendeed the grand opening. It is currently under consideration for landmark status.
The Civil War Monument in Calvary Cemetery was built in 1866 and contains the remains of 21 Catholic soldiers who died in area hospitals. The bronze sculptures by Daniel Draddy predate the identical statues found at Green-Wood Cemetery. Civil War … Continue reading
